EPHRAIM JACOBS (Reuven Russell) yearns to be free from daily responsibilities, so he might live a more saintly life.  His prayers are answered in a supernatural way, when his physical body becomes permeable, allowing him to live life as he had always dreamed.  Ephraim soon learns that the old adage “be careful what you wish for” is more than just empty words, when he is confronted with the real possibility of being ostracized from his community and family.  Along the way, he comes to appreciate the Jewish significance of living a spiritual life.
